Dexcom G6 is covered by Alberta Health for patients with diabetes under the age of 18 that require ongoing use of insulin or insulin pump therapy when prescribed by a specialist in endocrinology or pediatrics.

Dexcom G7 is not an eligible benefit under Alberta Health programs at this time.

Coverage will not be provided for the following:

• Requests made due to lifestyle choices (e.g. sports, personal preference, etc.);
• Components or devices that are not primarily part of the continuous glucose monitor composite device (e.g. batteries, insertion devices, adhesive removers, or other supplies).
