Empowering rtCGM Success with the Help of Dexcom CARE
To help people get the most out of the Dexcom G6 real-time Continuous Glucose Monitoring (rtCGM) System, we have the Dexcom CARE team. This team provides free training and support from certified diabetes educators. Installation help, in-app tutorials, personalized coaching, and training classes are just a few of the ways that Dexcom CARE can help users, new and current—and even healthcare providers—get the most out of the Dexcom G6 rtCGM System.
We interviewed Dexcom CARE team member Anick Michaud and share her insights with you below.
What is Dexcom CARE?
“Dexcom CARE is a customer support service that offers coaching from a team of Certified Diabetes Educators (CDE) like myself” says Anick. This team of experts can help users learn how to use and view their glucose readings, set up alarms, understand the predictive Urgent Low Soon alert, and more.
“[We] are here to help remove barriers to using rtCGM by providing education and support to new and current users” she says. “Some of the most common questions new users have are related to installation and changing transmitters.” Dexcom CARE specialists like Anick can provide step-by-step help at every stage, ensuring users get their Dexcom G6 rtCGM System up and running smoothly.
How Does Dexcom CARE Support Patients?
In addition to providing installation and usage support for the Dexcom G6 rtCGM System, Dexcom CARE also offers training on how to use the Dexcom Clarity app, which can be a valuable tool for users as they learn to manage their diabetes.
“Dexcom CARE trainers can provide training in English and French-Canadian, and also in more than 100 languages through use of a translator” explains Anick.
Dexcom CARE also provides bilingual group classes twice per week, and tutorials and training videos are available on YouTube. New users are encouraged to take advantage of these opportunities to learn more about Dexcom G6 and how to use it effectively.
How Do You Connect Patients with Dexcom CARE?
Dexcom CARE provides continuous care to patients after the clinic visit or prescription. Through live, interactive support, the trainers provide the necessary resources to successfully support users across the entire suite of Dexcom products and apps.
“Whether you're looking to provide support to a new Dexcom user in setting up Dexcom G6 for the first time or looking to get more information on how to optimize the use of the system for a current user, we are here to help” says Anick.
